I used to be an "investor" who jumped from tip sheets, to technical analysis, to 'top 200 dogs', to 'small growth specs' and back to tip sheets. The problem was, I had no real certainty and they all made sense.... until I discovered StockVal.

Dear StockVal Team,
I started investing 3 years ago at age 25. I would listen to friends for tips as well as newspapers and other forms of media. Coming from a science background, I don't have a clue about how to run a business, so how could I identify what a good business was? Following this path, I have to say, has beared no fruit and in fact has probably burnt me and put me behind financially. I needed to become my own investor.
With StockVal, I can now identify not only good businesses, but ones that are also good value.
As an educating tool, I haven't found anything better than StockVal. Yearly financial reports were just too confusing, and to be honest they still are. Using StockVal has taught me a lot about how to read them and take the information that will help me make my investment decisions. I like how it will gives me the room to grow as an investor while my knowledge of financial information grows.
With all the stocks out there where does one start to look? StockVal at the very least provides me a list to start me off.
Previously I could not say that I had any particular investing profile, but now I can say that I am (or attempt to be) a value investor.
