John Abernethy has over 24 years' experience in funds management and corporate advisory services. Prior to establishing Clime, John's roles included 10 years at NRMA Investments as the head of equities, where he successfully managed investment portfolios of approximately $2 billion in total. He was executive director of Poynton Corporate Limited before forming Clime (formerly Loftus Capital Partners) in 1996. John also holds non-executive directorships in Jasco Holdings Limited, Wilson Investment Fund Limited, Australian Leaders Fund Limited and WAM Active Limited.
Dr Vincent Chin, PhD Physics, MSc Physics, BSc Chemical Engineering, F. Fin
- Senior Analyst
Vincent is an experienced equity research analyst and a specialist in quantitative company analysis and company valuation techniques. Before joining Clime, he gained his investment experience with Ausbil Dexia and Maxim Asset Management. Prior to this, Vincent completed 17 years of research and development in the semiconductor industry.
Guy Carson, B. Com, M. Bus - Senior Analyst
Guy is an experienced financial markets analyst. Prior to joining Clime, Guy was a Portfolio Manager at Adam Smith Asset Management running their Micro cap fund as well as working as an analyst on the small cap fund. He had responsibility for analysing companies as well as portfolio construction. Earlier in his career, he worked at Macquarie Private Bank providing investment advice across all asset classes to high net worth individuals.
Leo Sek B App Fin, B Comm - Analyst
Leo brings over five years of accounting experience to Clime’s Investment Team. Beginning as a cadet with Howarths in 2001, Leo commenced his Tax internship with KPMG in December 2005 before moving into the Corporate Tax team in January 2006. Leo has also supported Macquarie Group’s central tax division in the areas of tax accounting and tax compliance. Leo has recently completed the Charted Accountant qualification.
Daniel Sciberras, BCom, BEcon, MAppFin, F Fin - Technical Manager
Daniel joined Clime in June 2006. He has over 6 years experience within the financial services industry working as an Analyst at APRA and as an Accountant in the Corporate Recovery Division of KPMG. Daniel has completed a Master in Applied Finance from Macquarie University, a dual degree in Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland , and has passed Level I of the CFA Program. Daniel is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
